I want help but am too embarrassed to let anyone see my clutter. How do I overcome that?By hiring a professional, just as you would for other areas of your life where you need help. I do not judge. My delight is in teaching people how to make forward progress in their organizing needs. When I see mess, I see opportunity. When I find disorganization, it fuels my problem-solving creativity.
-
What should I do before you come for the consultation?Absolutely nothing! Do not try and hide your clutter. Trust me, I will not faint when I see what shape your house or office is in. Walking through your space in its current condition will help me to figure out what is working for you and what isn’t and will help us put together a plan that will work for you.
-
Will I be forced to get rid of stuff?Forced? Of course not! Over the course of our working together you will learn tools and strategies to help you make good decisions about your stuff – what to keep, what to toss, what to donate,…. but you are ultimately in charge. Only you know what is important to you.
-
Do I need to be home with you?Generally, yes. Remember, my job is to guide you through the process of organizing your home, your office, and your life, not to do it for you. In order for it to be successful, and to maintain the new space, it must be a collaborative process. There are exceptions based on the type of project we are tackling, but for the most part you should expect to be working side by side with me.
-
Will our work together be kept confidential? We understand that this is a deeply personal business. Some people don't want anyone to know they are working with an organizer, other people love to share with friends. Please know that all our work is kept in strictest confidence. If you choose to share, that's your choice.

How can I be sure you are trained and qualified to help me?I am a member NAPO which is the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals. I've been trained well and am bound by their code of ethics. I'm also on the board of the New Jersey chapter of NAPO, which is an indication of my commitment to the profession. In that role, I am engaged in the planning of educational and training events for the chapter, so I am continually learning. I am a 3-year member of Home Advisor and have been thoroughly screened and approved by that organization. I'm also approved by Angi's list.
